John Weller

For me being a volunteer presenter on Nevis Radio is absolutely brilliant and fun to do, Getting involved with the station has given me friendships, personal confidence and great opportunities.

I have always loved music and my tastes are very wide, across many decades and genres.

As well as being a presenter, another role I have, is that of “Head of Music”.  This means I am responsible for putting our playlists together, liaising with record companies, promotors and directly with bands and artists themselves.

We are proud at Nevis Radio to play new up and coming artists, and love showcasing their talents.  Our playlists are diverse due to our area, and the fabulous presenters that cover many types and styles of shows throughout the week.

As for outside broadcasts, I guess the Scottish Six Days Trial is top of my diary each year, the event for the station has grown enormously. Six days, four hours a day, live from the heart of the event in parc ferme, not just audio, but its lights, camera, action these days too, with all the action live on you-tube.

I love the community involvement the station has, and that we work alongside and in association with many other groups and organisations across the west coast of Scotland.

Outside the radio, I enjoy photography, and organising the ten pin league within Fort William.
