One Day Bike Maintenance Course

During the course you will learn the basics of bike maintenance in a fully hands on manner. Our mechanics will lead you through repairs on your own bike. This will give you a greater understanding of your bicycle and the confidence to maintain it between services and perform trailside/ roadside fixes. The day will include the following sessions:-

Part 1: An Introduction - Essential supplies, use of tools, caring for your bike, safety checking your bike.

Part 2: Brakes - Learn how to check and change your brake pads, spot issues with your brakes and how to set up your brakes effectively. We may focus on rim or disc brakes, cable actuated or hydraulic depending on the needs of the group.

Part 3: Drivetrain - Learn how to check for wear and tear on your drivetrain and when to replace parts. Replacing a chain. Indexing gears and common issues such as bent derailleur hangers.

Part 4: Bearings - Understand how the different bearings on your bike work, spot for wear in all bearings and practice setting up your headset for smoothness and longevity.
