Come along to Glenfinnan on Saturday the 15th August to enjoy the Glenfinnan Gathering 2026. A Highland Games has been held in Glenfinnan since 1946 and commemorates Prince Charles Edward Stuart (Bonnie Prince Charlie) landing in Glenfinnan and raising his Father’s Standard, thus marking the beginning of the Rising of 1745.
Lochaber Pipe Band will accompany the 2026 Chieftain, Alistair Gibson, dignitaries and Standard bearers into the Games Field to open the 2026 Games.
Come and see the Pipers, Highland Dancers and Heavies compete in their categories for the trophies. Join in the athletics; races, high jump and long jump. Watch a Caber being tossed and enjoy local teams compete in the Tug o’ War.
Food and drink are available from the Glen Spean Brewing Company and Woody’s Wagon (Ardnamurchan Venison). MOWI’s Salmon Wagon, The Grill Master, Mulligan’s Ices and the Glenfinnan Community Tea Tent offer a wide range of refreshments.
Various stalls surround the Games Field selling a wide variety of goods- handmade soap, candles, arts and crafts, cakes and confectionary, jewellery, tartan goods, whisky and gin, baby clothes.
Living history. The Royal Oak Society in Jacobean dress, the Culloden Highland Fighters demonstrating their skills, will add to the atmosphere.
New for this year, The Children’s Tent, sponsored by the Royal Celtic Society. Your children will enjoy songs, storytelling and crafting.
A great day out for all the family. See you there!
