What is the Clipper Race?
The Clipper Round the World Yacht Race is one of the world's greatest ocean challenges, a 40,000 nautical mile journey spanning six ocean crossings and up to ten months at sea. What makes it unique is that most crew members are ordinary people with no prior sailing experience, trained from scratch and racing alongside seasoned skippers across some of the most demanding waters on the planet.
In the summer of 2026, Oban becomes part of the race route as the fleet arrives on Leg 8. The Atlantic Homecoming, having raced from North America as part of the final stretch towards the finish port of Portsmouth. Nevis Radio will be on the ground to bring you all the colour, drama, and celebration of the fleet's arrival.
