Rich Clarke

Have you got the best job in the world?
Tough call... I love my job, it is officially ace, however if I could be a Domino's Pizza tester for the day that would be brilliant.

What is your first chart memory?
My friends at school used to try and "out chart" each other by memorising how many weeks songs had been in the top 40. I have the memory of a fish (and a life) so could never compete, however I do remember my Nan buying me a Jive Bunny record when I was a kid because it was number 1. I've still got it. One day you'll see me on the Antiques Roadshow clutching it with pride and telling them it was No. 1 for five weeks.

What is the most listened to song on my iPod?
I always dread these questions because it's usually something really tragic... but... I can report it's currently La Roux 'In for the Kill' ...slightly more credible than the second most listened to track, 'Where's the Party' by Madonna (c'mon the sun was out when I wrote this).

What is the most embarrassing track on your iPod?
I'm not embarrassed about any of them. However my mp3 player plays the tracks out loud if the headphones fall out of the hole. Not so good if you've got Michael Buble blaring out on a packed train.

Who would you most like to get on the show?
The best guests have always been the ones you thought would be awful. I have a rule that if the band was around when I was growing up, I tend to get a bit more nervous about it. So interviewing Madonna would be incredible. I'd be terrified, but it would be an amazing experience.

What was the first album you bought?
Erhm, Roxette... 'Joyride'. Apparently they're getting back together.

Favourite gig you've ever been to?
I love it when Iím surprised at a gig. I went to see Linkin Park last year and it was amazing. Equally seeing Snow Patrol recently was incredible. The reaction to some of their bigger singles was probably the most electrifying moment I have experienced at a gig.

What's the best thing about working with Kat?
She has a ready supply of ketchup. If ever you need any condiments to complement your meal, Kat’s got a stack in her locker.

Kat Shoob

Have you got the best job in the world?
My mum definitely thinks it is...

What is your first chart memory?
Don't think it's legal but recording the songs and trying to press stop before the DJ spoke... puts me out of a job slightly though doesn't it. Also use to record it and make up dance routines stomping around in my bedroom... Play... rewind... play.. rewind...

What is the most listened to song on my iPod?
Stevie Wonder - Part Time Lover.

What is the most embarrassing track on your iPod?
Yeah I like a bit of Buble but only because I think he might be singing it to me and me only... that's bit embarrassing and bit stalker like.

Who would you most like to get on the show?
Stevie Wonder or Lionel Richie.

What was the first album you bought?
2 Unlimited, can't remember the name but I think it was the only one they brought out actually. It had that great hit 'No no, no no no no, no no no no , no no there's no limit!!!!

What's the best thing about working with Rich?
Nothing... ha ha!! Jokes! I love Richard Clarke very much and he makes me see sense when I am being a stupid girl pants. Also he is constantly eating Pizza or going to a Theme Park, it's brilliant!

Early on, she co-presented a classical programme and has covered for various presenters over the years. Now she's sharing her passion for Americana music in her show every second Wednesday and Thursday.

Born in Inverness, and brought up on a hill-farm near Kingussie, Jo's a down-to-earth Highlander, proud of her homeland, its people and culture. But her musical tastes are all over the place: traditional, folk, classical, world, indie..and, of course, Americana.

Living in Lochaber for 23 years, currently working as a community worker for a national older people’s charity, outside work and radio, Jo can be found curling with Lochaber Curling Club, having a laugh at "Ceilear!" Gaelic singing sessions, line-dancing, volunteering, jogging unconvincingly, drinking good red wine and blethering.

A LOT - He's On Almost All The Time

John has been with Nevis Radio for about 6 years. When not presenting, he works as Head of Commercial Production and Music. You hear an advert on Nevis Radio – John has put it together.

He hails originally from Dunfermline where he spent many years presenting Hospital Radio. He also commentated on local football matches and still follows the fortunes of Dunfermline Athletic. He is President and sole member of the Lochaber branch of the Dunfermline Athletic Followers Trust (DAFT).

Dunfermline may be his home town, but his spiritual home has long been the Highlands. He is never happier than when camping by an isolated loch in the company of a worm or two, a rod, a reel, and a bottle of Scotland’s finest. With the exceptions of opera and traditional jazz, his musical tastes are all encompassing.

He has been threatening to learn the guitar for some time, and it is with mounting excitement and a great deal of patience that we await the fruits of this ambition.

Editor's Note: John has just won the 2009 Thomas Prag Award, presented annually at the Highlands and Islands Community Broadcasting Federation Conference in Inverness. The Award, which began in 2004, is designed to create a competition amongst Scottish community broadcasters.

John is self-employed and undertakes building repairs and maintenance, which he has done for 26 years.

He has always been interested in music, and built his own disco out of rubbish collected from jumble sales when he was 11 years old. Work, marriage, children and other interests, consumed his time for about 20 years and the DJ in him, took a back seat, although he still collected music and did the odd fundraiser for local youth groups. His musical taste cover a very wide genre from heavy rock to new country. Buying an old disco set up from a friend sparked his love of DJ'ing again, upgrading kit over the years and gaining a reputation as a party DJ.

He is not afraid to admit that HE LOVES CHEESE, steak and the odd dram of locally distilled water! Some of his other interest are 10 pin bowling, playing golf (badly) and photography. Both he and his wife are on the committee of Lochaber Agricultural Society and assist in the planning of the annual show and stock judging competition.

He says "there is no bad music... there is just music he would prefer not to listen to."
