John Weller, aka "Big John" is from East Grinstead, a child of the sixties, he moved to Fort William in 2005 with his lovely wife Pam (Mrs W) and 2 of their 3 children.
John is self-employed and undertakes building repairs and maintenance, which he has done for 28 years.
He has always been interested in music, and built his own disco out equipment collected from jumble sales when he was 11 years old. Work, marriage, children and other interests, consumed his time for about 20 years and the DJ in him, took a back seat, although he still collected music and did the odd fundraiser for local youth groups.
His musical tastes cover a very wide genre from heavy rock to new country. Buying an old disco set up from a friend sparked his love of DJ'ing again, upgrading kit over the years and gaining a reputation as a popular party DJ.
He is not afraid to admit that HE LOVES CHEESE (No not just some of his music), steak and the odd dram of locally distilled water!
Some of his other interest are 10 pin bowling, playing golf (badly) and photography. Both he and his wife are on the committee of Lochaber Agricultural Society and assist in the planning of the annual show and stock judging competition.
John believes being able to broadcast on a Radio Station like Nevis Radio is a real honour and a great way to share those special moments through the media of music.
He says "there is no such thing as bad music... there is just music he would prefer not to listen to."
